Senior Electrical Engineer - MTC

Job Summary: The Senior Electrical Engineer is a hands ‑ on contributor responsible for the design, development, and integration of electrical systems with a strong focus on cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, interconnects, and system ‑ level hardware integration.

This role requires practical experience working directly with hardware in lab and test environments.

The engineer will ensure proper electrical functionality and compliance of ruggedized defense systems, including supporting EMI/EMC and environmental qualification efforts.

This position emphasizes real ‑ world electrical engineering and system bring ‑ up rather than purely theoretical or architecture ‑ only work.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

* Contribute to the design and development of complex products, equipment, or processes; perform schematic capture and support PCB layout activities, including coordination with external layout providers.

* Design and develop cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, and electrical interconnect solutions for complex hardware systems.

* Define connector selection, shielding strategies, grounding schemes, and EMI mitigation approaches.

* Integrate electrical subsystems and verify proper functionality at the system level.

* Develop detailed specifications, schematics, assembly drawings, and bills of materials; support preparation of subsystem performance requirements.

* Troubleshoot electrical issues during lab, test, and system integration activities.

* Support EMI/EMC compliance efforts including MIL ‑ STD ‑ 461 testing and troubleshooting.

* Support environmental qualification efforts, including MIL ‑ STD ‑ 810 test planning and test execution support.

* Perform signal integrity, power distribution, and load analysis to validate system performance.

* Use electrical design and documentation tools to create schematics, wiring diagrams, and integration documentation.

* Evaluate prototypes, analyze test results, and translate findings into design updates.

* Conduct experiments to characterize product performance; perform troubleshooting and testing for project ‑ level issues.

* Evaluate and select components, materials, and design approaches based on electrical, environmental, and reliability requirements.

* Support DFM and DFT considerations during design and integration.

* Conduct testing and analysis of electrical systems and implement design improvements based on results.

* Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to ensure seamless product integration.

* Support manufacturing and field investigations, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

* Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and external customers.

* Participate in project planning activities and support execution to meet schedule, cost, and performance targets.
