CNC Operator 4

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Gauge and maintain quality parts throughout machining process.

Maintains quality standards for production parts according to written quality procedures and practices.

Maintains accurate parts counts and data integrity by keying proper data into computer system.

Marks and/or tags identifying material on stock items and prepares necessary paperwork for proper routing of materials.

Conducts minor repairs and maintenance to cutting tools during production process.

Follow and adhere to company safety polices, procedures and practices.

Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, and follows prescribed safety procedures.

Performs all assigned machine shop operations.

Other responsibilities as required or assigned.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Wear safety eye glasses and steel-toed shoes and uses hearing protection as needed.

Uses safe lifting and hazard communication practices.

Has a keen understanding of emergency action plan.

Obtains lift operator license for motorized pallet jack and forklift.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

One-year experience with a 4-axis CNC controlled machine and conventional turning equipment.

Able to read and edit CNC programs or equivalent education.

Able to read, use and/or interpret blueprints, micrometers, dial indicators, gauges and vernier calipers to check and maintaining work quality

Responsible for purchasing appropriate basic precision measuring instruments and hand tools upon completion of 90-day introductory period.

Flexible team member with strong communication skills

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

High school diploma or (GED) and one year related experience or a combination of education and experience.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Other duties may be assigned.
