Nurse Manager - Primary Care
Provides leadership, coordination, and operational oversight for nursing and clinical support services within a pediatric ambulatory primary or specialty care site.
The Ambulatory Nurse Manager is accountable for safe, efficient, family-centered care delivery; daily clinical operations; and the effective use of human, material, and financial resources to support quality outcomes, access, and an exceptional patient and family experience.
This role partners closely with providers, practice leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to standardize workflows, support regulatory and accreditation readiness, develop staff, and drive continuous improvement across the site.
The manager fosters a culture of accountability, professional growth, collaboration, and evidence-based practice while advancing the goals of Nemours Children's Health and supporting high-quality pediatric ambulatory care.
Essential Functions:
Provides leadership and oversight for daily nursing and clinical support operations within a pediatric ambulatory primary or specialty care site to ensure safe, efficient, and family-centered care delivery.
Directs, supervises, and evaluates nursing and clinical support staff, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
Partners with providers, practice leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care delivery, align workflows, and promote a collaborative team environment across the site.
Ensures compliance with regulatory, infection prevention, licensure, Joint Commission accreditation, Magnet, and organizational standards, and maintains readiness for audits, surveys, and inspections.
Monitors and improves clinical quality, patient safety, service, and access outcomes by using data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and leading performance improvement initiatives.
Assures appropriate staffing plans, patient flow, and resource utilization to support efficient operations, timely access, and high-quality patient and family experience.
Supports development, implementation, and standardization of clinical workflows, policies, procedures, and competencies consistent with evidence-based practice and ambulatory care standards.
Promotes staff engagement, accountability, shared decision-making, and a culture of respect, inclusion, and continuous learning.
Participates in operational and fiscal planning, including monitoring labor, supplies, and other site resources to support responsible stewardship and departmental goals.
Serves as a clinical and operational leader for the site, supporting change management, communication, and strategic initiatives that advance pediatric ambulatory care.
Qualifications:
Master's in nursing or related field preferred.
Five years clinical experience required, preferably at least one year in pediatrics.
