Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Full-Time or Part-Time
Pay Range: $52.00 - $60.00 per hour DOE

Desert Springs Post Acute, soon to be known as Willow Springs Healthcare Center, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.

We are also excited to welcome Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates looking to launch their careers in a supportive skilled nursing environment.

Our therapy team is committed to helping residents improve communication, cognition, swallowing function, and overall quality of life through individualized and evidence-based care.
Position Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates, develops, and implements treatment plans for residents experiencing speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.

The SLP works closely with physicians, nursing staff, therapy professionals, residents, and families to achieve optimal outcomes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities


* Evaluate residents for speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders


* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and physician orders


* Provide skilled therapy services to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing function


* Assess residents for dysphagia and recommend appropriate interventions and diet modifications


* Collaborate with nursing, dietary, rehabilitation staff, physicians, and families to ensure quality care


* Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines


* Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning processes


* Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment strategies and recommendations


* Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

Qualifications


* Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program


* Current California Speech-Language Pathologist license, or eligibility for licensure


* Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates welcome and encouraged to apply


* Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred for licensed clinicians


* Current CPR certification preferred


* Skilled nursing facility experience preferred but not required


* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills


* Ability to work effectively within a collaborative interdisciplinary team
