Electro-Mechanical Technician

What You'll Do

You will perform maintenance activities on electrical and mechanical systems within a cold storage automated facility.

Responsibilities include conducting preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, overhauls, and continuous improvement activities while maintaining accurate records and a clean work area.

Occasional travel by automobile and airplane may be required.

Essential Functions


* Perform maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems such as conveyors, turntables, palletizers, and related equipment in a cold storage automated facility.


* Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance activities including troubleshooting and overhauls or rebuilds.


* Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance system performance and reliability.


* Maintain accurate records of work performed using a computerized maintenance management system.


* Keep work area clean and perform housekeeping duties as required.


* Travel by automobile and airplane as necessary to support facility operations.


* Perform related work and other job assignments as required.


* Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.

What Experience and Education You Need


* Minimum 3 years of electro-mechanical systems maintenance experience in an automated facility required.


* Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or equivalent certification required.


* Proficient in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems including conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrapping machines, label printers, cranes, shuttles, VFDs, Servo Motors, and sensors.


* Ability to use Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures and devices and apply principles of electrical safety including arc flash and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


* Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve technical issues in automated systems and communicate technical information clearly to team members and stakeholders.

What Could Set You Apart


* Certifications or formal training in mechatronics or maintenance preferred.


* Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and vision systems.


* Knowledge of SAP or Oracle systems.


* Understanding of precision maintenance techniques and associated tools.


* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and interpret drawings and equipment diagrams.


* Understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques, tools, and processes.


* Effective verbal and written communication.

Physical Requirements


* Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius) and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).


* Able to work at heights in excess of 30 ft.
