Responsibilities

Basic Nursing Care:


* Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs like temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respirations.


* Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed by a physician, following facility protocols and under the supervision of an RN.


* Wound Care: Perform wound care, including changing dressings and monitoring for signs of infection.


* Hygiene and Mobility: Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, and mobility.


* Nutrition and Hydration: Ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration, assisting with feeding if necessary.

Patient Monitoring:


* Patient History: Record a patient's history and current condition.


* Observation: Observe and document changes in a resident's condition, reporting any concerns to the RN.


* Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Collaboration and Supervision:


* RN Supervision: Work under the supervision of an RN, following their guidance and instructions.


* CNA Supervision: Supervise certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in providing basic nursing care.


* Teamwork: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive comprehensive care.
