Senior Accountant - Behavioral Health - Fiscal Department

The County of Riverside's Fiscal Analysis Division within the Riverside University Health System (RUHS) Behavioral Health Department is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Riverside.

This position performs complex technical accounting or auditing work, serves in a lead capacity over other accounting and clerical staff.

Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining fiscal recordkeeping controls, analyzing financial records and accounting procedures, preparing reconciliations and a variety of accounting, statistical, and narrative reports, assisting with budget preparation and internal controls, recommending improvements to accounting systems and procedures, developing cost and rate models, and tracking and reporting federal and state grant expeditures.

The Senior Accountant is distinguished from the Supervising Accountant classification in that the latter typically has complete supervisorial control over professional, paraprofessional, and clerical staff for a functional unit within a department's accounting operations.

Work Schedule: 9/80, with every other Friday off; Hours: 8:00am to 5:30pm

• Examine and analyze complex fiscal recordkeeping systems and procedures; prepare, review, and verify a variety of accounting, statistical, and narrative reports.

• Review accounting policies and procedures to ensure conformance to applicable laws, rules, and regulations; review, evaluate, and assist in the revision, design, and implementation of accounting systems.
