Compliance - Control Manager (Area Product Owner) - Vice President

As a Control Manager Vice President of the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk line of business, you will serve as the Area Product Owner within the Electronic Communications Archive platform.

You will set direction and make decisions for your scoped area - translating compliance and control requirements into clear backlog priorities, release-ready deliverables, and measurable outcomes.

You will partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Controls, Technology, Risk, and Operations to improve platform effectiveness, resiliency, and auditability, while delivering crisp governance updates and data-driven insights.

Job Responsibilities


* Own strategy and decisions for your product area: Define multi-quarter priorities and outcomes (risk/control impact, regulatory alignment, resiliency, user needs) and drive alignment across stakeholders.


* Run the backlog end-to-end: Lead intake/triage, write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria, maintain traceability, and keep documentation governance-ready.


* Drive delivery across releases and dependencies: Partner with Tech and delivery leads on planning, sequencing, cutovers, and change approvals; ensure UAT and control-aligned validation are executed and evidenced.


* Embed compliance- and controls-by-design: Translate regulatory and internal control requirements into requirements, test evidence, decision records, and sustained operating processes-partnering with Compliance/Controls/Audit.


* Own operational health for your scope: Monitor performance and control signals; manage escalations; drive root-cause fixes that reduce recurring operational risk.


* Lead stakeholder and governance communications: Prepare executive-ready materials for forums/steerco, surface risks/decisions early, and drive timely resolution of roadblocks.


* Drive continuous improvement through data and automation: Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve reporting/metrics, reduce manual effort, and increase transparency and control reliability.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills


* 8+ years in product and/or program management roles (including Product Owner, Product Manager, Scrum Master, Agility Lead, Delivery Lead, or similar) in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
