Registered Dietitian (RD)

Responsibilities


* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine nutritional needs, including diagnostic evaluation and physiological considerations.


* Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate nutrition therapy, weight management strategies, and specialized interventions such as tube feeding.


* Provide expert guidance on dietary modifications, including managing acute care conditions, geriatrics needs, and long-term care requirements.


* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate nutrition services, monitor progress, and adjust plans as necessary for optimal outcomes.


* Educate patients and their families on nutrition principles, health coaching techniques, and lifestyle changes to support long-term wellness.


* Supervise dietetic staff and interns when applicable, ensuring adherence to standards of practice and quality assurance protocols.


* Document all assessments, interventions, and progress notes accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications


* Current registration as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN) with an accredited credentialing body.


* Proven experience in hospital or healthcare settings, with familiarity in acute care, geriatrics, and long-term care environments.


* Strong knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and disease processes affecting nutritional status.


* Hands-on experience with dietary department operations, care plan development, and patient assessment techniques.


* Proficiency in EMR systems for documentation and communication across healthcare teams.


* Demonstrated skills in health coaching, patient education, and motivational interviewing to foster positive behavior change.


* Supervising experience preferred to lead dietetic staff or interns effectively.


* Familiarity with tube feeding protocols, weight loss programs, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to clinical nutrition.
