Project Engineer - Engineering Services

Intertek is searching for a Project Engineer, Engineering Services to join our Building & Construction team in our Coquitlam, BC office.  This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) Industry!

The Project Engineer, Engineering Services is responsible for managing complex projects related to regulatory compliance of building products and/or assemblies, direct involvement in Intertek certification programs, and engagement with various external industries and technical associations.

What you’ll do:     


* Work on engineering evaluations for regulatory compliance in Canada and US markets for both standardized and innovative building materials/assemblies


* Prepare technical and certification documentation derived from test results and evaluations.


* Help write compliance research reports, create Listing reports through Intertek's certification program, and manage QA programs


* Perform audits and product sampling at client manufacturing facilities. 


* Collaborate closely with sales, laboratory, and technical teams to support seamless project execution. 


* Manage assigned projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery with continuous communication with clients. 


* Participate actively in industry committees, standards development activities, and technical association meetings. 


* Interact with clients, accreditors and/or Authority Having Jurisdiction to resolve any matters

What it takes to be successful in this role:


* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field


* Minimum of five years of experience in technical writing, regulatory compliance, and familiarity with the testing, inspection, and certification industry


* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


* Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment


* Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams


* Microsoft Office software expertise


* Valid driver’s license 


* Be able to travel within Canada and USA
