Assistant Nurse Manager MC/CHC - RUHS Operating Room

The Riverside University Health System - Medical Center (RUHS-MC), Operating Room Department is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager MC/CHC to join our team located in Moreno Valley.

This recruitment may be used to fill vacancies in either the Unit Leader or Unit Educator assignment.

Our Perioperative Services team is dedicated to providing safe, individualized surgical care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery.

We prioritize keeping patients and families informed and engaged throughout their surgical journey, supporting improved outcomes and recovery.

The Assistant Nurse Manager will support the Clinical Director by supervising perioperative staff, and managing daily OR operations.

The incumbent in the Assistant Nurse Manager (Unit Leader) assignment will provide operational leadership by supervising and evaluating perioperative nursing staff, coordinating daily department operations, managing staffing and patient care delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting the Clinical Directors to promote efficient, high-quality surgical services.

The incumbent in the Assistant Nurse Manager (Unit Educator) assignment will provide clinical leadership by developing and coordinating staff education, orientation, competency validation, and professional development programs.

The incumbent will promote evidence-based practice, support quality improvement initiatives, mentor nursing staff, and foster continuous learning to enhance clinical excellence and patient outcomes.

The most competitive candidates will possess extensive clinical experience in perioperative/OR settings, demonstrated leadership experience in a charge nurse or similar supervisory role, strong operational knowledge of the surgical environment, and experience supporting staff development through education, orientation, competency validation, and mentorship.

Candidates should also have experience implementing quality improvement (QI) initiatives, the ability to effectively manage staff and workflows in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, strong communication and collaboration skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Required Certifications and Licenses


* A current and valid RN license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.


* A current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* A valid CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification or must be willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Work Schedule:
Unit Educator: 9/80, with every other Monday off, Hours: 6:45 a.m.

to 4:15 p.m.
Unit Leader: 9/80, with every other Monday off, Hours: 10:00 a.m.

to 7:30 p.m.
