Join Siemens Healthineers' Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI) team in Princeton, NJ, a central hub for advancing Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies in healthcare.
As a Senior AI Scientist, you will work on real-world medical imaging challenges, developing and applying advanced AI/ML methods to improve diagnostic imaging, image-guided therapy, and personalized medicine.
This role bridges research and product development, with a focus on translating novel algorithms into impactful clinical solutions.
You are responsible for:
* Conducting research and developing AI/ML algorithms to solve complex problems in medical imaging
* Applying modern machine learning techniques, including deep learning and generative models, to imaging and inverse problems
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, clinical partners) to define requirements and deliver solutions
* Prototyping and validating new approaches through feasibility studies and rapid experimentation
* Contributing to publications, patents, and internal innovation initiatives
* Translating research into practice by supporting integration of algorithms into product workflows
Minimum Qualifications:
* Ph.D.
in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related field
* Strong foundation in machine learning / artificial intelligence
* Experience applying ML to real-world problems (e.g., imaging, signal processing, computer vision, or similar domains)
* Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work through complex technical challenges
* Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and research outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in medical imaging, computational imaging, or image processing
* Familiarity with generative AI techniques (e.g., diffusion models, foundation models, or related approaches)
* Experience with inverse problems, reconstruction, or physics-based modeling
* Track record of publications or patents in relevant fields
* Experience working in collaborative research or product development environments
* Exposure to C++ or performance-oriented implementations
