We have an exciting opportunity for an OCEAN IMPORT AGENT with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Accuracy and timely movement of freight and information is a key component for this position.

This position will be based at our Torrance, CA location.

Key Responsibilities:


* Confirm all shipment information with origin to initiate shipment Receive and validate customers order including shipping documents, SLI, EIN, credit application


* Review/update; verify fees, customer profile, SOP, and rates per quote or customer SOP/work instructions


* Verify shipment status, review pre-alert and verify shipment handling instructions to operations


* Serve as a liaison between Document Processing Agent and the Customer regarding shipment details and/or exception


* Communicate and resolve problems that arise in the movement of product


* Communicate exceptions and shipment status with Customer

 

Skills / Requirements:


* Minimum 2 years Ocean Imports experience in the freight forwarding or International Supply Chain industry.


* Strong Understanding of Ocean Import regulations and documents.


* Knowledge of Inco Terms a plus


* Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment


* Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively


* Exceptional customer service and follow up skills


* Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


* LOGIS or Cargo Wise systems knowledge is a plus


* Hazmat certification is a plus


* Bachelor’s degree preferred, High school diploma or GED required

 

Pay Range: $23.26 - $31.02/hr.

(Based on Experience)
