Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Full-Time

Location: Moraga Post Acute
Pay: $45.00 per hour
Help Residents Regain Independence

Moraga Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dedicated rehabilitation team.

Working under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping residents improve their functional abilities, regain independence, and enhance their overall quality of life.

What You'll Do
Provide Exceptional Therapy Services


* Deliver occupational therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.


* Assist residents in achieving individualized treatment goals and maximizing independence with activities of daily living (ADLs).


* Monitor resident progress and communicate changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

Maintain Accurate Documentation


* Complete timely and accurate treatment documentation in compliance with facility policies, Medicare guidelines, and regulatory requirements.


* Record resident progress, treatment responses, and recommendations for continued care.

Collaborate with the Care Team


* Work closely with therapists, physicians, nursing staff, residents, and families to support individualized care plans.


* Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care conferences, and discharge planning.

Educate Residents & Families


* Instruct residents and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, safety practices, and fall prevention.


* Provide guidance on the proper use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.

Support Rehabilitation Programs


* Assist with restorative nursing programs and provide training to staff as needed.


* Recommend adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment (DME) to promote resident safety and independence.

Promote Quality & Safety


* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.


* Follow infection control procedures, safety standards, and equipment maintenance protocols.


* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance projects.

Demonstrate Professionalism


* Maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.


* Build positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.


* Contribute to a culture of compassion, respect, and excellence in patient care.

Qualifications


* Current California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing.


* Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.


* Previous experience in a skilled nursing, post-acute care, or rehabilitation setting preferred.


* Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skill...
