Underwriting Technician

Multi-state commercial insurance carrier is seeking an Underwriting Technician within the Commercial Auto & Garage department, based in the Long Beach, NY location.

  

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:


* Issue policies (New only)


* Issue Vehicle ID Cards


* Review/process endorsement requests


* Run VinAssist on new vehicles


* Order inspections


* Process Non-Payment cancellations


* Issue Certificates of Insurance


* Process Final cancellations


* Process Reinstatements


* Send out Voluntary Audit forms on expired/cancelled policies


* Send out miscellaneous letters (drivers, plates, etc)


* Review returned paperwork (finance agreements, audits, returned mail, etc)


* Follow up diaries for outstanding underwriting information


* EAR’S processing


* Proof of Coverage letters

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:


* Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook

Experience:


* Bachelor’s degree is required


* Exceptional computer and phone skills


* Prior experience working within the insurance industry preferred  

The expected pay range for the role is $48,000 - $50,000.  The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and experiences.   The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
