What Will Your Job Look Like?
The Vehicle Maintenance Technician Class III will perform scheduled and unscheduled vehicle maintenance repairs and service to satisfy compliance with vehicle warranties and assist with maintaining Company or Client fleet as required. The Vehicle Maintenance Technician Class III will also be responsible for assisting with facility clean-up and organization, and for communicating the status of repairs and parts needed in a computerized Maintenance management system using the 3 “C” s.
What You’ll Do:
* Responsible for maintenance, service, diagnosing, & repair of MTM Transit and Capitol Metro owned vehicles
* Areas of repair to include but not limited to automotive vehicle, light duty truck, powertrains, undercarriage/ chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning/heating systems, vehicle accessories, and equipment drivability and diagnosis of wheelchair lifts
* Perform on the road repairs (Road Calls) as needed
* Ensure all data is collected in the computerized maintenance management system collecting the complaints, causes, corrective actions and all labor and parts used
* Ensure electronic repair work orders are completed correctly
* Ensure appropriate communication of repairs and parts
* Perform additional duties as assigned or required
What You’ll need:
* High school diploma or G.E.D.
equivalent
* Automotive courses from automotive institute preferred
* Must possess a valid driver’s license
* Minimum of 1 year’s automotive mechanical experience
* Must have certifications and or proof of training in the following Areas:
* Brake system (A5)
* PMI inspection certified
* Refrigerant (A 609 certified)
* Brake repair certified
* Experience using hand and power tools, machinery, sophisticated test and diagnostic equipment related to automotive repair
