JOB OVERVIEW:
Under supervision of the Division Director of Parks and Recreation, acts as the manager responsible for developing, recommending, promoting, implementing and managing the use of the Archery Complex and surrounding park located at Observatory Park.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
In coordination with Parks and Recreation Division Director, is responsible for hiring, discharging, directing, and supervising staff.
Initiates specific programs, assigns programs to staff, monitors and evaluates programs carried out by staff.
Assists Director in research and preparation of annual budget; monitors budget expenditures to establish cost benefit ratios; negotiates with sources to develop additional revenues.
May represent the Archery Park to local, regional, and national organizations.
Directs preparation of informational material for distribution.
Under the guidance of Director, determines advertising and promotional activities; directs the design and execution of media and promotional campaigns, including social media.
Directs press and public relations programs.
Works with various entities on county, regional and national levels to develop use of the Archery Park.
Coordinates efforts with planning groups, private businesses, municipalities and other government divisions to develop programs with positive impact.
Coordinates, oversees and reports on all capital Improvement projects and equipment needs of the Archery Park.
Directs the development, implementation and enforcement of rules and safety regulations governing the use of facilities, equipment and personnel at the Archery Park.
Develops and maintains volunteer program and staff for the support of the Archery Park, including, but not limited to; recruiting, retaining, rewarding, correction and scheduling.
Develops and implements goals and objectives for the staff and volunteers, and serves as a liaison with outside constituents and other on matters relating to policy and administration.
