Job Description:
The L2 TAC Aruba Switching Engineer provides advanced technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex enterprise and data-center switching issues across AOS-CX and AOS-S platforms.
This role owns deep issue isolation, root cause analysis, workaround development, and collaboration with L3 Engineering, while mentoring L1 engineers and ensuring high-quality customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and resolve complex switching incidents escalated from Level 1 support, including high-severity (Sev 1/Sev 2) outages.
* Perform advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation, protocol analysis, and root cause investigations across Aruba switching environments.
* Support Aruba CX, Aruba AOS-S, VSX, VSF, Aruba Central, and multi-vendor network environments (Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
* Troubleshoot advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies, including STP, LACP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, VRFs, routing convergence, and high-availability architectures.
* Analyze network performance issues involving QoS, CPU, memory, TCAM utilization, packet loss, MTU mismatches, and hardware interoperability.
* Lead root cause analysis (RCA), develop workarounds, and provide technical guidance to customers during critical incidents.
* Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams by providing detailed escalations, packet captures, logs, crash files, and reproducible test cases.
* Serve as a technical mentor for Level 1 engineers, improving troubleshooting standards and case quality.
* Participate in defect reviews, feature readiness activities, and executive-level outage management while ensuring compliance with support SLAs.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science / IT is nice to have.
