Infrastructure Engineer III - MQ Series

As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Sector - Enterprise Technology, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline.

Job responsibilities


* Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications


* Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications


* Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses


* Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications


* Operate and support IBM MQ environments across development, testing, and production, ensuring service availability, stability, and compliance with internal standards.


* Execute MQ administrative activities, including queue manager configuration, channel management, security controls, and access governance aligned to secure-environment practices.


* Support resilience objectives via disaster recovery planning, sustained resilience coordination, and testing/validation activities.


* Maintain clear operational runbooks, standards, and controls that enable consistent execution across a geographically distributed operations model.


* Apply reliability engineering practices: define and improve service health indicators, operational thresholds, and actionable alerting to reduce noise and improve time-to-detect/time-to-recover.


* Reduce toil through automation, including scripted remediation, self-service operational workflows, and repeatable change execution (e.g., certificate lifecycle, configuration validation, routine health checks).


* Institutionalize post-incident learning: contribute to blameless reviews, ensure corrective actions are tracked to closure, and verify effectiveness through measurable outcome improvements.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services


* Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments


* Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)


* Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge
