Engineering Technician II (2nd Shift)
Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for assisting in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing processes for the manufacturing of night vision components.
A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment.
Have an understanding and skills in effectively applying Six-Sigma tools to benefit the organization and customers.
Additionally, the candidate will be versed in Lean tools and their application to reduce waste.
This is a hands-on technician position.
The individual can expect to spend >90% of their time engaging directly with the factory teams on the shop floor to be most effective.
Job Responsibilities:
* Review and disposition of night vision components
* Training of production employees
* Leading or participating in projects to increase yield, increase productivity, reduce waste, improve work processes, and improve product performance quality
* Working with area engineers and managers to optimize yields and throughput
* Participating in and promoting Lean Six Sigma methodologies
* Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
* Associate degree preferably in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or related work experience
* 2+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
* Strong analytical abilities and troubleshooting techniques
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Ability to work effectively within a team
* Good interpersonal and organizational skills
* Experience training others
* Ability to obtain Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with review/inspection of electrical assemblies
* Experience writing MS Access queries
* Proficiency with statistical analysis software: Minitab, JMP, SAS .

* Conformance Testing to Mil-Stds
* Capable of performing process engineering tasks proportionate to their experience
