Laundry Worker - Indio

The Riverside County Probation Department is seeking to fill a Laundry Worker position for the Indio Juvenile Hall located in Indio.

Incumbents of this classification will collect, transport, sort, and count laundry; and will also be required to stand for long periods of time, and to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

The Probation Department seeks a Laundry Worker with experience operating industrial washers and dryers; experience making minor sewing repairs to clothing and/or linen items; and experience utilizing a computer with the ability to access and reply to emails, complete online trainings, as well as other computer-related tasks as needed.

The department is seeking candidates with large facility laundry experience.

e.g.

providing laundry service for facilities with over 100 people, and basic computer skills.

Work ScheduleThe incumbent in this position will be required to work weekends and holidays with hours of: 7:00 a.m.

to 3:00 p.m.

• Transports laundry between various laundry operations; may operate washers, extractors, conditioners, flatwork ironers, and pressers; sorts and counts finished laundry and delivers to appropriate storage areas.

• Keeps laundry machinery and area clean by dusting, sweeping, mopping, and wiping.

Ability to: Read and write English at a level required for successful job performance; follow oral and written directions; learn machine operations, procedures, and techniques of laundry work; keep simple records.
