Development Specialist I (Career Coach) - Indio

The County of Riverside's Department of Housing & Workforce Solutions (HWS), Workforce Development Division, is seeking a Development Specialist l (Career Coach) who will be assigned to their Indio office.

We are seeking a dedicated Development Specialist to join our Career Services team.

In this role, you will act as a Career Coach, assisting clients in their job search by reviewing resumes, providing job leads, labor market information and resources.

As a Career Coach you will be determining eligibility for our federally funded program and assessing client suitability.

Incumbent responsibilities will include conducting interviews to assess their qualifications and needs, evaluating client documents to determine eligibility for employment programs.

They will also process requests for special grants, support services and short-term vocational training.

Additionally, a Career Coach will provide case management and follow-up services to participants.

PLEASE NOTE: This position may require travel throughout Riverside County as needed by the department for various events, including driving to Blythe, CA.

Additionally, this position requires the ability to work night shift and weekends due to department needs.

Under general supervision, the Development Specialist l (Career Coach) performs advanced paraprofessional and entry level professional duties which involve basic technical and analytic work in economic development, housing and community development, employment and training programs, or aviation; performs other related duties as required.

Competitive candidates will possess previous case management experience, at least six months of career counseling, and/or experience working with eligibility determinations.

Spanish bilingual highly desired.
