Restoration Laborer (Temp-to-Hire)

    Job Description

 Pay Rate: $18.00-$25.00/hour

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week 

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is as a support role to the Project Manager and the assistant Project Managers in the field.

Our client is a restoration company and jobs are sometimes on military bases, so you will need to be able to pass a background check per client requirements.

The Goodwill Staffing (GSS), General Laborers position will consist of short-term employment opportunities that may become temp-to-hire positions.

This position is usually outdoors, and the incumbent will be exposed to the elements.

These opportunities are typically more physical requiring the incumbent to be walking, standing, twisting, bending, and/or carrying/moving heavy objects through their shift.

The GSS, General Laborers’, position is customer-facing and will represent the Client and Goodwill in a positive manner. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 


* Moving materials to the worksite and ensuring all tools, machinery, and other equipment are safely set up.


* Operating equipment like drills, pneumatic hammers, shovels, pikes, and other heavy machinery.


* Assisting with various electrical and plumbing installation procedures.


* Obeying health and safety codes, as well as the company's principles.


* Removing hazardous materials from sites.


* Spreading gravel, asphalt, and other materials over surfaces.


* Performing site and equipment inspections.


* Attending meetings and workshops.


* Completing on-the-job training.


* Ensuring tasks are completed to deadlines.


* Organize and clean jobsites.


* Protect completed phases of construction.


* Prep construction sites.


* Implement various safety protocols.


* Load or unload construction materials.


* Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding.


* Follow instructions from supervisors and project managers.


* Assist supervisors.


* Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.


* 40-hour work week
