Assistant General Counsel, Global Financial Crimes Legal

You will help shape how emerging products and services are designed and delivered in a highly regulated environment.
You will partner closely with business, compliance, technology and control teams to translate complex legal requirements into practical controls and solutions.
You will bring sound judgment, curiosity and a collaborative approach to novel matters.
As an attorney in the Global Financial Crimes Legal Practice Group, you will provide subject matter expert legal advice and transactional support on financial crimes topics across the firm, with a focus on digital asset-related matters.
You will advise on anti-money laundering, know your customer and anti-corruption issues for products, services, investments and strategic transactions.
You will partner with stakeholders to design controls tailored to novel risk areas and evolving regulatory expectations.
You will also support governance, escalations, investigations and policy development.

Job responsibilities
* Advise on financial crimes (anti-money laundering, Know Your Customer/Customer Due Diligence and anti-corruption) for blockchain and digital asset products and services, including tokenization, cryptocurrency transactions, custody solutions and interactions with virtual asset service providers.
* Assess novel financial crimes risks and regulatory expectations related to the digital asset industry.
* Partner with business and compliance stakeholders on product design and on developing and implementing controls (including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring and travel rule considerations).
* Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives involving digital asset innovation with technology, business, compliance and control partners.
* Conduct financial crimes due diligence for investments, acquisitions and strategic transactions and advise on risks and mitigants.
* Monitor regulatory, legislative and industry developments impacting financial crimes risk in the digital assets space and advise on implementation.
