Maintenance Electrician

Scope of the Position

The Electrician will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment throughout the plant.

This role will also routinely perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and components to ensure the continued safe, efficient, and effective operation of all equipment and fixtures used by the company. 

This position is for our 1st shift, Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Job Duties


* Troubleshoot HMS transfer systems and stamping/assembly presses


* Maintain all electrical equipment


* Create, write, and input basic PLC programs


* Read and understand electrical drawings and PLC ladder programs


* Resolve issues with proximity switches, photo eyes, sensors, lasers, servos, and all press side equipment


* Respond to break down calls as needed


* Install control and distribution devices such as switches, relays, and distribution panels


* Perform preventative maintenance procedures and techniques


* Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit


* Performs other duties as required 

Qualifications



* Must be a Red Seal Licensed Electrician


* Min.

1-3 years working experience in Industrial Maintenance


* Working knowledge of progressive and transfer die protection


* Good working knowledge of PLC and ladder logic


* Experience with robotics is an asset


* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills


* Able to understand drawings, working sketches, and operating manuals


* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment


* Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing


* Able to work well under pressure


* Strong attention to detail
