Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LLC is seeking a Production Scheduler for our Port Hudson facility in Zachary, Louisiana.

The Production Scheduler creates and executes optimized finite-machine production schedules that meet business demand and plant performance goals.

This role acts as the liaison between commercial/master scheduling and manufacturing operations, owns daily/weekly production plans, anticipates and removes obstacles to plan completion, and continuously optimizes run quantities and changeovers to maximize throughput and customer service.

What You Will Do


* Create, maintain, and execute finite-capacity production schedules across machines and lines to meet customer demand and plant targets.


* Serve as the operational liaison between Sales/Customer Service, Master Scheduling, and Manufacturing to align priorities and support customer service level commitments.


* Own daily and weekly production plans: monitor progress, identify potential obstacles (material, machine, labor), and coordinate corrective actions.


* Conduct regular schedule-review cadences with manufacturing (e.g., daily operations huddle, weekly planning review) to review production results and adjust plans.


* Optimize run lengths and minimize changeovers by balancing SKU priorities, machine constraints, and inventory targets.


* Monitor and communicate production plans to affected teams in a timely manner; ensure changes are documented and acknowledged.


* Identify material shortages and expedite needs; follow up with Deployment / Planning / Procurement to close supply gaps and ensure commitments are met.


* Maintain accuracy of system parameters, master data, routings, machine calendars, and changeover times so scheduling tools can generate realistic plans.


* Identify slow-moving inventories and support disposition strategies (promotions, salvage, rework) to reduce waste and carrying costs.


* Support continuous improvement initiatives (SMED/changeover reduction, line efficiency, yield improvements) and contribute to root-cause problem solving.


* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards in all scheduling decisions and communications.


* Prepare and present schedule performance reports to stakeholders and leadership.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Experience in production scheduling, planning in a manufacturing environment.


* Experience with scheduling tools (AspenTech, Quintig, Optessa, Preactor etc.) and ERP systems (SAP.
