Summary - basic function of the role
Engineer Techs are an integral part of the team supporting the manufacture of key Enerpac and Simplex products.
Program and operate CNC equipment safely, timely, and efficiently while utilizing CAD/CAM technology to support production requirements.
Prepare cost estimates by reviewing labor, material, and time requirements, blueprints, specifications, and other related documents.
Identify areas of improvement within the operation and continue to increase efficiency, quality, and safety.
Shift: Monday - Friday; 6 - 3:30 pm or 7:00am - 3:30 pm, Saturdays when production needs exist.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1.
Programming, Writing/Editing, setup, and operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers in accordance with the manufacturing method/process sheets.
2.
Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Applies knowledge of composition and machinability of materials with knowledge of machines, tooling and capabilities to help develop standardized processes.
3.
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills and lathes.
4.
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
5.
Using current design standards and processes, develops component part drawings from form, fit and function assembly drawings.
Applies knowledge of composition and machinability of ferrous and non-ferrous materials with knowledge of machines, tooling and capabilities to develop standardized processes
6.
Performs cost-estimating functions as needed on new or pending orders.
Operate AutoCAD and/or Pro E equipment to design and develop tooling and fixtures.
