Job Description:

Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard or work site by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities


* Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.


* Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.


* Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.


* Deal with customers directly when loading customer pick up.


* Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.


* Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales or other containers.


* Loads truck for over the road drivers.


* Stacks/stages materials on the line and in trailers.


* Lifts heavy objects by hand and cleans work area, machines and equipment to assist machine operators.


* Operate industrial fork truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products.


* Participates and contributes to a Work Team environment and follows Quality Control checks.


* Follows all Safety Rules and contributes to a safe work environment.


* Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


* Ability to read measurement tools.


* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Physical Demands


* Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to or exceeding 50 lbs.


* Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be 8-10 hours)
