Lead Sensory Integration Therapist (PT or OTR)-Full Time

💰 $85-$90/hour
Santa Rosa Post Acute is seeking a passionate and innovative Lead Sensory Integration Therapist to develop and lead our new Sensory Integration Program.
This unique opportunity is ideal for a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) who is committed to enhancing quality of life for long-term care residents through sensory integration interventions and therapeutic programming.
This role will focus on program development, direct resident treatment, staff education, and integration of sensory-based approaches throughout our therapy services.
The Lead Sensory Integration Therapist will work under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Director and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive Sensory Integration Program for long-term care residents.
* Evaluate residents and provide individualized sensory integration assessments and treatment plans.
* Deliver direct therapy services utilizing sensory integration principles and evidence-based practices.
* Identify opportunities to improve resident engagement, comfort, behavior management, and quality of life through sensory-based interventions.
* Train, mentor, and support therapy staff in the implementation of sensory integration techniques.
* Collaborate with nursing, activities, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members to incorporate sensory integration strategies into resident care plans.
* Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on resident outcomes.
* Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal requirements.
Qualifications
* Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR).
* Experience working in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric settings preferred.
* Strong interest, experience, or specialized training in sensory integration and sensory-based therapeutic interventions.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
* Passion for improving the lives of long-term care residents through innovative therapeutic approaches.
* Ability to educate and support staff in the implementation of new clinical programs.
