Global Test Engineering (GTE)

The Global Test Engineering (GTE) team builds and operates advanced manufacturing test automation solutions supporting Dell's portfolio of AI Server and Storage products.
As we modernize AI rack-level testing into a scalable, software-driven platform, we are looking for a Software Engineer to help design, build, and maintain reliable systems that support high-volume manufacturing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to grow their skills while working on real-world systems that power industry-leading AI infrastructure.

What You'll Achieve

As a Software Engineer 2 (I6), you will contribute to the design and development of software solutions that support manufacturing test and automation workflows.

You will:


* Design, develop, test, and maintain software components under the guidance of more senior engineers


* Contribute across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, implementation, testing, and deployment


* Write clean, maintainable code and participate in peer code reviews


* Debug and resolve issues in software and system-level environments


* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, test, and product engineers


* Learn and apply new tools, technologies, and development practices, including AI-assisted workflows


* Continuously improve software quality, performance, and reliability

Essential Requirements


* Experience in software development fundamentals, including coding, testing, and debugging


* Proficiency in at least one programming language


* Basic understanding of operating systems, networking concepts, and system interactions


* Ability to work with existing tools, frameworks, and hardware environments


* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail


* Willingness and ability to learn new technologies through hands-on experience


* Good communication and collaboration skills

Desirable Requirements


* 3-5 years of relevant software engineering experience


* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent


* Exposure to manufacturing systems, test automation, embedded software, firmware, or hardware-adjacent development


* Familiarity with Agile development practices
