Position Summary

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.

You may also take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities


* Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines


* Ensure meals meet dietary restrictions and special diets (including pureed diets)


* Maintain kitchen in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition


* Follow portion control standards and food safety procedures


* Monitor and record food temperatures


* Assist with meal service and plating to ensure appealing presentation


* Supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor


* Maintain sanitizer solutions and follow cleaning schedules


* Clean cooking equipment, serving carts, and kitchen areas


* Collaborate with staff across departments to support resident care


* Report any resident concerns to leadership

Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent required


* At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting


* Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification


* Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary restrictions


* Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred


* Strong teamwork and communication skills


* Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
