Position Summary

As a Cook, you will prepare and serve meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.

You may also assist with kitchen oversight when the Dietary Supervisor is not present.
Key Responsibilities


* Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines


* Ensure meals meet dietary restrictions and special diets, including modified textures


* Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment


* Follow food safety and portion control standards


* Monitor and record food temperatures


* Assist with meal service and ensure food presentation is appealing


* Maintain sanitizer solutions and follow cleaning schedules


* Clean kitchen equipment, workspaces, and serving carts


* Support dietary staff and collaborate with other departments


* Assist with supervision of kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor

Qualifications


* High school diploma or GED required


* At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care


* Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification


* Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary needs


* Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred


* Strong teamwork and communication skills


* Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
