Position Summary

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help residents improve independence and daily functioning.
Key Responsibilities


* Provide direct patient care as directed by the Occupational Therapist


* Assist residents with improving activities of daily living (ADLs)


* Follow physician treatment plans and therapy goals


* Document daily treatments and weekly progress notes in accordance with regulations


* Monitor and report patient progress to the therapy team


* Assist with discharge planning and caregiver education


* Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration


* Help maintain a clean, safe therapy environment


* Assist with training Restorative Aides as needed

Qualifications


* Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program


* Active, unencumbered COTA license in South Carolina (required)


* Experience in a long-term care or rehab setting preferred


* Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) and Casamba preferred


* Strong communication and teamwork skills


* Compassion for an underserved population
