Facility Manager

Position Summary: The Facility Manager is responsible for managing the operations of a warehouse, ensuring the timely and efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods.

This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills to oversee a team, optimize workflows, and maintain inventory accuracy while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:


* Manage a team of warehouse staff, including employees loaned from other departments.


* Assign tasks, provide training, and ensure optimal performance of the team.


* Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Inventory Management:


* Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring accurate inventory records.


* Track inventory levels and reorder stock as needed to prevent shortages.


* Perform regular stock audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.

Warehouse Operations:


* Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and layouts to optimize space, reduce costs, and improve workflow.


* Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that orders are processed on time and accurately.


* Ensure that goods are properly labeled, packaged, and stored according to company standards and safety regulations.

Fleet Operations & Management:


* Oversee day-to-day operations of all fleet vehicles and equipment.


* Schedule and track preventive maintenance and repairs


* Coordinate with vendors and internal maintenance teams.


* Minimize vehicle downtime and ensure availability for operations


* Maintain accurate vehicle service and maintenance records

Compliance & Safety Management:


* Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FMCSA and local regulations (as applicable)


* Manage vehicle inspections, registrations, permits and licensing.


* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring that all safety procedures are followed.


* Ensure that the warehouse complies with local, state, and federal regulations.


* Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for the warehouse team.

Logistics & Coordination:


* Coordinate with operations, sales, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.


* Manage relationships with suppliers and carriers to ensure efficient inbound and outbound logistics.


* Plan and oversee logistics activities to minimize delays and maximize efficiency.

Reporting & Documentation:


* Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and receipts.


* Prepare reports on warehouse performance, including inventory levels, order processing times, and safety compliance.


* Analyze performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
