Cold Crane Operator

Amsted Rail-Griffin Wheel, the leading manufacturer of railroad wheels in North America, is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Cold Crane Operator for our Groveport foundry.

The Cold Crane operator is responsible for use overhead crane to use magnet to pick up scrap material to be placed into furnace so it can be charged.

The Operator is seated constantly in overhead crane in ceiling area of facility.

Hand and fine motor upper extremity controls are necessary to operate the crane.

Frequent neck rotation and flexion to visualize areas below crane is needed.

Will use foot controls as well to provide braking when locking electrode into place.

Must be able to work without direct supervision, be a self-starter, pay attention to details including accurate data collection/entry and tracking of preventative maintenance information.  Previous crane experience is preferred.

Hours of work will be on the afternoon shift (2:00 p.m.

to 10:00 p.m.) with daily and weekend overtime as required. 

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and successfully complete screening and skills tests prior to interviewing.

The Cold Crane Operator position will start at $30.65per hour for the training period and then to full wage of $34.05 per hour following the completion of the training period.
