New Graduate Registered Nurse - MC/CHC - Adult Critical Care Unit Residency Program

The County of Riverside's Riverside University Health System is seeking New Graduate Registered Nurses to work in the Adult Critical Care Unit at the Medical Center in Moreno Valley.

The Registered Nurse I - MC/CHC is the entry level classification in the Registered Nurse - MC/CHC series and reports to an appropriate supervisory or manager level position.

Incumbents perform the full range of professional nursing duties in a learning capacity within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act within assigned unit(s).

Incumbents typically work under close supervision and receive comprehensive in-service training.

The Riverside University Medical Center - Adult Critical Care Unit is composed of two physical units; a Medical Intensive Care Unit and a Surgical Intensive Care Unit dedicated to the trauma, medical, and surgical needs of the critically ill adult and elderly patients.

A multi-disciplinary team approach is utilized to provide optimal care for our diverse population.

The new graduate nurse cohort is designed to incorporate critical judgement, professional conduct, and weekly didactics to integrate the necessary skills and critical thinking required to become an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse.

The program is 16-weeks with focus on the new graduate RN mastering critical skills.

Upon graduation, the new graduate RN will be able to function at a competent level within our Adult Critical Care department.

Required Licenses & Certifications Upon Hire


* A current and valid Registered Nurse license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California, (it is not necessary to be licensed prior to interviewing, however, you must have a valid license prior to official onboarding).


* A current and valid Basic Life Support, (BLS), certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* A current and valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support,(ACLS), certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* A current and valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, (NIHSS), certification issued by t he American Heart Association, Blue Cloud-National Stroke Association, or Apex.

* Work Schedule: 3/12, Night Shift, 7:00 p.m.

- 7:30 a.m.
+ During the initial training of this position, incumbents may work day shift or mid-shift.

Salary Range (Hourly) & Differentials


* Registered Nurse I - MC/CHC - $42.4708 - $59.4772


* Evening Shift Differential (6:00 p.m.

to 11:00 p.m.): $2.50/hour


* Night shift Differential (11:00 p.m.

to 7:30 a.m.): $5.00/hour
