Your Role: Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer in the Enterprise Data Products team at Elanco, you will be at the heart of our data transformation journey.

You will design, build, and scale professional-grade data pipelines on Microsoft Azure to support our global scientific and business teams.

From R&D to Supply Chain, your work will turn complex data into high-value products that drive insights in animal health.

You should be able to articulate complex technical topics, collaborate with global partners, and ensure the high-quality delivery of data products.

Your Responsibilities:


* Build & Optimize: Develop scalable, secure ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.


* Maintain & Support: Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing pipelines to ensure high availability and performance across global production environments (16x7 support model).


* Ensure Quality: Implement automated testing frameworks for data validation, reconciliation, and schema integrity.


* Innovation & Modernization: Own initiatives to transition legacy data products to modern architectures, ensuring optimal scalability.


* Govern: Apply best practices in Data Management, Master Data Management (MDM), and Knowledge Graph representation.


* Collaborate: Work within Agile sprints alongside Product Managers, Data Architects, and Engineering Squads.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):


* Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.


* Azure Expertise: 2.5 to 5 years of hands-on experience with ADF, ADLS, Azure SQL DB, and Cosmos DB.


* Databricks & Spark: Proven ability to develop complex pipelines using Databricks and PySpark.


* Testing Rigor: Strong experience in data profiling, ETL testing, and automation frameworks.


* Incident Management: Familiarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow for incident management.
