Overview

Orion's Roof seeks a highly accomplished Executive Chef to lead the culinary operation of a fast-paced, high-profile Virginia Beach restaurant known for volume, visibility, modern presentation, Asian influence, premium seafood, and a meaningful sushi program.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a chef who can combine creativity with disciplined execution, rigorous systems, strong financial command, and a relentless commitment to consistency.

The successful candidate will bring the energy and stamina to lead service in real time, mentor a large culinary team, protect product integrity, and ensure every dish reflects the restaurant's market-leading position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


* Direct the day-to-day operations of all areas of the kitchen with a focus on consistency, presentation, flavor, speed and guest experience.


* Lead development of innovative, Asian-influenced menus that are modern, profitable, and compelling to the local and visitor market.


* Manage Human Resources in the kitchen in order to attract, retain and motivate the associates while providing a safe environment.

Interview, hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication vehicles, and discipline and terminate as appropriate.


* Plan and manage the procurement, production, preparation and presentation of all food in the hotel in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective manner.
