Position Overview:
* Prepare, submit, and monitor Medicaid claims, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of denials or rejections.
* Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with Medicaid offices, including necessary account adjustments.
* Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid billing regulations, coding requirements, and compliance standards.
* Generate and review reports on Medicaid claims, payments, adjustments, and outstanding balances for management.
* Collaborate with residents, insurance providers, and internal departments to streamline billing processes and resolve account issues.
* Perform clerical and accounting functions, including cash receipts and ancillary data entry.
* Monitor and follow up on private collections and outstanding accounts.
Qualifications:
* Experience with Medicaid claims processing and healthcare billing procedures.
* Strong knowledge of Medicaid billing guidelines, reimbursement procedures, and compliance requirements.
* Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills with the ability to maintain accurate billing records and track claims effectively.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with residents, family members, insurance providers, and healthcare teams.
* Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and resolve issues efficiently.
* Knowledge of account reconciliation procedures, including reviewing balances, identifying discrepancies, and resolving outstanding account issues.
* Ability to research and reconcile resident or property accounts to ensure accurate billing, payments, and financial records.
