Job Summary

THIS IS A TEMPORARY, GRANT-FUNDED POSITION, ACTIVELY RECRUITED AND AT-WILL.

Provide day-to-day work direction and supervision to maintain steady workflow and productivity for death

investigations.

Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to investigations.
Assist with the coordination and oversight of all death investigations and aid in the determination of causes and
manners of death in assigned cases.

Assist with work activities of lower-level death investigators.

Participate in the
oversight, development, and maintenance of investigation files and databases.

Provide technical guidance and
assist in the development and coordination of leadership's responses to mass fatality incidents.

Answer questions
related to death investigations and address non-standard issues Minimum Qualifications



* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher AND


* Four (4) years of experience in death/criminal investigations or directly related experience


* Two (2) years of prior supervisory experience


* Certification from the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI) within one year of hire


* Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance


* Ability to obtain and maintain license and/or certification requirements

This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.

*Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

• Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and practices of the Medical Examiner's office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.

Ability to analyze and interpret observations, statements, and medical records relative to reported deaths.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate the office...
