What You'll Do
As a Transport Technician I, you will be the hands-on expert responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Arvig’s advanced transport and network systems.
You’ll work independently to complete service orders and resolve complex trouble calls for fiber networks, commercial voice systems, and data centers.
Whether you’re upgrading central office facilities or educating a customer on their new high-speed connection, you’ll ensure every job is done safely and with an emphasis on quality.
* Commitment to Safety: A strong dedication to maintaining a safe environment -both physically and mentally -for yourself, your colleagues, and customers
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
* Technical Experience: 2+ years installing and repairing transport or network equipment.
* System Savvy: Solid understanding of fiber plant design, IP addressing, routers, switches, and various network topologies.
* Customer Service Focus: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both tech-savvy and non-technical customers.
* Licensing: A valid Class D Driver’s License with a clean driving record and a Power Limited Technician License.
Bonus Points If You Have:
* An Associate’s degree (AAS) in telecommunications, networking, computer science, or a related field.
* A basic understanding of managed IT services.
Location
This position is located in New Hope, MN
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm with additional hours as required. Must participate in an on-call schedule
