Generalist, Human Resources - 2nd/3rd Shift
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist administers and supports a wide range of human resources programs and processes across the associate lifecycle.
This role partners with managers and associates to promote a positive, compliant, and engaging work environment while ensuring adherence to company policies and applicable employment laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Works with supervisors and managers to maintain a fair and positive work environment for associates; responds to associate concerns promptly and professionally.
* Participates in associate relations investigations and advises supervisors and managers in disciplinary action processes.
* Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures compliance among policies, procedures, and reporting.
* Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects associates to fill vacant positions.
* Plans and conducts new associate orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
* Keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and associate statistics for government reporting.
* Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
* Advises management in appropriate resolution of associate relations issues.
* Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
* Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
* Administers hourly pay program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
* Answers questions and assists with administration of benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and associate assistance.
* Prepares associate separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Education/ Skills/ Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.
A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
