Finishing Operator
ConMet - Canton, NC is currently looking for Finishing Operators to support our Paint, Hydro and Assembly areas.
What You Will Do:
* Follow written work instructions to fulfill production requirements to meet or exceed customer on-time delivery.
* Inspect parts throughout the production process to verify quality expectations are being meet or exceeded.
* Detect and report nonconforming materials to area lead or direct supervisor.
* Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area through regular housekeeping.
* Maintain accurate internal production records.
* Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: insert purchase components, prepare work area, prepare packaging materials, comprehend and follow daily schedule/manifest, assemble/build to the WI, prep parts for paint, correctly use the computerized labeling system, correctly package parts, report scrap.
* Must be able to use but not limited to the following tools: gate cutter, welders, packaging materials, utility knives, deburrers, routers, buffers, clip pusher, torch, sandpaper, drill, hammer, PPE, fixtures, pliers, screw drivers, rivet guns, glue guns, hammers, air hoses, staplers, and verification stations.
* Comply with all plant safety and environmental policies and procedures.
What You Need to Be Successful:
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) strongly preferred
* Minimum twelve months related experience and/or training
* Ability to access information on a computer and operate a labeling scan gun
