Title:  The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) Analyst  ISA I-C

Location:  Alexandria, Virginia

Security Clearance: Moderate Background Investigation (MBI)

Due to the nature of law enforcement work and operation, position may require occasional support outside of core working hours, as well as intermittent weekend support, mission dependent.

Travel: This position will require travel between worksites in their personally owned automobile (mileage reimbursed).

Job Summary:

The Investigative Support Analyst supports Inspection Service Child Exploitation Prevention and Investigation efforts at NCMEC.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 


* General knowledge of federal statutes;


* Ability to communicate orally and in writing is sufficient to express thoughts and ideas to a variety of people;


* Proficiency conducting research on the internet and commercial as well as public databases;


* Demonstrated substantial ability to assist in the analysis of investigative results and present sound recommendations for additional investigative action;


* Substantial experience assisting in the development of civil and/or criminal cases for presentation to the appropriate prosecution authority;


* Substantial experience performing the appropriate analytical techniques and methods during an investigation;


* Demonstrated substantial experience supporting complex criminal and/or civil investigations;


* Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direct supervision;


* Substantial experience supporting the preparation of a final work product.


* A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are required.

NCMEC Operations/Coordination


* Provide an “in-person” Inspection Service presence at NCMEC and serve as the primary point of contact for Postal Inspectors requesting NCMEC assistance.

Manage the NCMEC PO Box, collecting mail daily.


* Receive and track CE/CSAM submissions from law enforcement agencies.

Process the submissions, ensure compliance with NCMEC’s guidelines, and transfer them to NCMEC’s CVIP for examination Return original submissions to the requesting law enforcement agency.
