The County of Riverside's Facilities Management Department is seeking to fill two Maintenance Plumber vacancies, one in Banning and one in Murrieta.

The Maintenance plumber will be tasked to perform skilled work in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and equipment; and to do other work as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience with commercial and industrial plumbing systems, including familiarity with air control systems (e.g., air manifolds), boilers, water heaters, and facility infrastructure.

Candidates with experience troubleshooting plumbing issues in both interior and exterior facility settings are preferred.

Competitive candidates will possess experience in the following areas:


* Overseeing and managing multiple work assignments with strong attention to detail


* Commercial and industrial plumbing systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair


* Familiarity with air control systems and manifolds (e.g., AirTrol/Aircold systems)


* Ordering parts, coordinating with vendors, and obtaining price quotes


* Knowledge of plumbing parts, materials, and inventory management


* Experience working in a municipal or government environment


* Experience working in detention centers, jails, or other secure institutional facilities

A successful Security Clearance conducted by the Sheriffs' Department is required for this position.

Schedule: 6am - 5pm off on Mondays

A position in this class involves duties at the journey level.

Work is performed independently and supervision received consists of general and specific job assignments and inspection of finished work.

The department is r esponsible for keeping county buildings safe, comfortable and productive for both county staff and the public.• Installs and replaces water and sewer lines, fixtures, valves, heaters, water heaters, and other devices working from blueprints, sketches, and written and oral directions.

• Tests and locates trouble in plumbing systems; repairs valves, pipelines, faucets, and fixtures, repacking valves and replacing defective parts; cuts and threads pipe; cleans out obstructions in drains for water and sewer systems.

• May supervise the work of helpers; may fire boilers and maintain proper steam pressure and water levels on an assigned shift as required.
