Robotics and Mechatronics Engineer Intern

Job Description

The Advanced Robot Manipulators Lab at Stevens Institute of Technology, led by Prof.

Long Wang, is seeking a Part-Time Robotics and Mechatronics Engineer Intern to support sponsored research in advanced robotic manipulation systems.

This position contributes to an ongoing DHA-funded research project focused on dexterous robotic hands, tactile sensing, and human-robot interaction.

The intern will work closely with graduate students, faculty, and external industry partners in a collaborative research environment.

Responsibilities


* Assist in the design and development of robotic hand and manipulation hardware


* Support fabrication, machining, and rapid prototyping of mechanical components


* Integrate tactile sensors and embedded systems into robotic platforms


* Conduct laboratory experiments and assist with data collection and analysis


* Participate in system testing, debugging, and performance evaluation


* Document experimental procedures, results, and technical findings


* Collaborate with research team members on ongoing project development

Compensation Range
In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the hourly base range for this position is $25-$25 hourly.

This range represents the University’s good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations.

The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
