QE- Metrology and Callibrations
The Calibration Engineer is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the calibration system for all measurement and test equipment within the new Querétaro plant during the startup phase.
This role ensures compliance with Schneider Electric standards, ISO requirements, and customer expectations, supporting product quality and manufacturing reliability.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and manage the calibration program for all inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IMTE).
* Define and maintain calibration procedures, intervals, and methods, aligned with ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, and Schneider Electric requirements.
* Coordinate internal and external calibration activities, including supplier qualification and performance monitoring.
* Ensure all equipment is properly identified, labeled, and traceable to national or international standards.
* Support the startup phase by setting up calibration processes, documentation systems, and digital tools.
* Manage and maintain the equipment database and calibration records, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
* Lead and support internal and external audits related to calibration and metrology systems.
* Analyze calibration data, identify trends, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
* Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to ensure measurement system capability (MSA).
* Support validation and release of new equipment, ensuring proper calibration before production use.
* Train operational teams on proper handling and usage of calibrated equipment.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to metrology and measurement systems.
Who will you report to?
Report directly to the Quality Manager.
This position will be working occasionally with corporate Quality positions as the Senior Managers and the other Schneider locations.
Additionally have strong collaboration with engineering, production and manufacturing.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Electrical, or related field).
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in calibration, metrology, or quality engineering in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in plant startup or new line implementation is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of:ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
* Calibration methods and uncertainty concepts
* Dimensional metrology (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, etc.)
* Torque measurement and calibration systems (torque wrenches, torque testers, transducers)
* Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) operation, basic programming, and data interpretation
* Handson experience working with CMM (e.g., Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Hexagon).
* Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
