Michael Baker International's Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators, and safety experts.

What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker is seeking an Inspector to join the Construction Services team in Moon! This role involves field-based inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.

What You'll Do:


* Perform spot inspections of facilities to assess condition, workmanship, safety, and compliance with established standards and requirements


* Conduct inspections on rail projects, including track, structures, stations, yards, or related infrastructure, as assigned


* Verify contractor work complies with plans, specifications, codes, and safety regulations


* Identify deficiencies, non-conforming work, and potential safety issues; document findings clearly


* Prepare inspection reports, field notes, and photographic documentation


* Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client representatives regarding inspection findings


* Monitor corrective actions and follow up to confirm resolution


* Maintain accurate inspection records in accordance with project and client requirements


* Travel to multiple sites as needed to support inspection activities

What You Need to Succeed:


* High School Diploma (or equivalent)


* Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check


* U.S.

citizenship, required


* 3+ years experience performing facility, construction, or infrastructure inspections


* Ability to climb ladders and stairs; walk job sites; and perform other physical activities associated with field inspections


* Strong knowledge of inspection procedures, quality control, and safety practices


* Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents


* Ability and willingness to travel regularly

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $30/hr - $35/hr.

This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.

Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
