Position Overview:
The Wax Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Wax department to ensure production efficiency, product quality, and adherence to safety and company standards.
This role serves as a working lead, providing hands-on support while coordinating team activities, monitoring workflow, and acting as a liaison between production staff and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Operations Oversight
* Coordinate and prioritize daily work assignments for Wax personnel to meet production schedules.
* Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and equipment usage to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
* Ensure all wax patterns and assemblies meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
* Troubleshoot production issues and escalate complex concerns to supervisors or engineering as needed.
Quality Assurance
* Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
* Conduct in-process inspections and ensure defects are identified, documented, and addressed promptly.
* Collaborate with the wax supervisor and process engineering to address audit findings.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scrap reduction and process optimization.
Team Leadership & Development
* Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to Wax team members.
* Responsible for training new hires and cross-training existing employees.
* Promote a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment aligned with company values.
* Communicate performance expectations clearly and consistently.
Safety & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with all safety policies, OSHA standards, and PPE requirements.
* Lead by example in maintaining a safe and organized work environment (6S principles).
* Report and document safety incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly.
