Photonics manufacturing engineer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

* Design and optimize manufacturing processes for testing electro-optical components and assemblies.


*


* Perform testing of production parts using lasers as required.


*


* Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications and standards.


*


* Assemble and test opto-mechanical and electro-optic prototypes.


*


* Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and procedures.


*


* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.


*


* Provide technical support to production and NPI teams as needed.


*


* Manage production schedules and ensure on-time daily shipments when required.

Education & Experience



* Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience, or a master's degree or higher.

Skills



*


* Experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly with optical systems and components.


*


* Experience working in a cleanroom environment.


*


* Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.


*


* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


*


* Familiarity with lasers, optical components, and related test equipment.
